Closer Look at Exponea’s Values

At Exponea, we treat our values seriously and during my time with the company, I’ve realized that they are in the core of our decision-making processes and serve as a compass to align ourselves when we are unsure about the direction.

Since our values play such a huge role in Exponea’s culture, I’ve decided to explain them a bit.

That being said, Exponea’s values aren’t forcibly communicated, it’s just that they are so deeply embedded in our culture, which I presume may be partly because we hire new talents who may also share similar values of their own.

Also, we talk about values often and update them as needed together with our top management. The last time this happened was about a month ago where we’ve critically analyzed and rephrased them, so they would better reflect the reality rather than being those stereotypical “hollow statements”.

If we feel we might not be able to deliver on our commitments, we put our egos aside and immediately bring it up with those who rely on us in their work.

We do things with a goal — hard or soft — in mind. Whether creating new revenue or the next client hero, each task should aim towards impact.

As we move in seniority, we make it part of our mission to develop our colleagues through feedback, mentoring and sponsorship.

We believe in team effort. We assume good intentions, play fair, respect and capitalize on each other’s differences and opinions. We win and celebrate together.

We find ways to reach goals. We always look for what can be done. From there, we play to win, take initiative and act fast.

We role-model ethical behavior. As individuals, we think, speak and act in consistency with our own values as well as with those of Exponea. As a company, we include ethics in deciding who to work with and for.

To sum it up

My personal view on these values is that they actually are in essence rather down to the ground, mature and applicable for people who take their work seriously but don’t want to be soulless automatons bound by rigid rules.

I feel that if you aspire to grow as a person and professional together with your people close to you, you may share similar values yourself.
